    The US has just deployed 16 M1A tanks to Afghanistan. What's a surge without tanks?

    It doesn't have to be a majority. The NSDAP was able to take power with only about 40% of the vote.

    Another issue is that Bin Laden still hasn't been brought to justice.

    As for the deployment of marine M1A1 tanks, well I'm not sure this is a good thing. Especially having a 120MM gun rolling around with the high probability of killing civilians since the calibre of the weapon is so high. Whatever the case, it will scare the alah out of the Taliban. Though I can see the benefits with using a tank, 24/7 ground surveillance with an accurate gun which can see in the dark is a good thing to have.
