If they drive slow on the road & block my way, they shouldn't be on the road I've actually seem a couple of oldies on the road drive fast overtaking everybody. Those type of seniors should be allowed to stay on the road.
I was trying to find a picture but couldn't think of any makes/models and then I remembered PLYMOUTH BEHEMOTH!!
No way, they should be banned and I agree with you Yankee0306, all drivers under 21 should not be allowed on the roads either.
How about making it harder to get your license instead of banning? And making everyone take driving classes, not learning from your parents. I was coming from work one day and this teenage girl kept changing lanes and speeding, no signaling, tailgating, being stupid. So, the next traffic light I get next to her: Me: "Wow, you drive like a NASCAR pilot(I would have said rally)" She: "Thanks! And I only got my license 2 months ago." Me: "Nooo! Who taught you to drive like that?" She: "My mom! " Me: "So, she's as stupid as you are...?" She: Many people have an attitude problem, especially women in the US. My sister is the same. I hate being in her car. On the other hand, my girlfriend drives really careful and I was amazed of how fast she reacts when in danger of being hit by somebody who doesn't check their mirror when changing lanes
They are better drivers than teenage girls or boys for that matter driving the new car daddy just bought them for the most part =)
Having lost my Grandmother to a car accident last month I can say that, while some elderly people really shouldn't be driving, some states have higher than average retirement communities. Florida is a good example and the simple fact is that in these communities the elderly are a big voting block and limiting their ability to drive would amount to political suicide. That being said I'm generally more fearful of young drivers.
If a doctor thinks someone isn't fit to drive then that should be enough to prevent them driving. It should be a law everywhere.
Yea it is pretty brutal, I am 23 and have been driving since I was 16, 2-3 hours a day sometimes more and have not had a single accident (part of that is good luck/ someone upstairs likes me don't get me wrong) and my rates are still higher than a friend of myn who is 27 has totaled 2 vehicles and we have the same insurance carrier. Age discrimination FTL
Stupid thread. What does age have to do with anything. Driver's licenses should be issued based on one's ABILITY to drive after putting someone through several tests. I've been driving since I was 10-11 years old & I was a better driver then than many 30-40 year olds. I'm not kidding.
