maximum of 2 pages seems to be the norm. i wouldn't do more than 2. (who has time to read it all) one-pagers work too, if you can do it. GOOD LUCK.
your resume should be 2 pages max, but whatever you do you have to make the first 3 or 4 lines the most important as they are the first (only) thing a prospective employer is going to read. you have to make them 'grab' the reader's attention so they want to read on.. if you cant get them in the first few lines, you probably wont be getting the job.
Depends on the situation. Are you in the workforce, highschool, college? Do you have related job experience? Etc. Heres is a resume tip: Dont put "references available upon request". It's a given. I have had some training by the number 3 resume writer in the world, so if you have specific questions, feel free to PM me.
How do they rank resume writers? Also I have read that some employers prefer a one page. If you have a large number of achievements then go with 2 pages.
Okay, well for a college student, for example. What should he/she include? Would extracurricular activities/community service be needed if his/her work experience already exceeds 3/4 of the page? Is an "objective" section necessary? Many thanks!
she should put that on her resume then... #3 is still pretty good for the whole world. kidding drig. P.S. my resume is just average. 2 pages. pretty boring really. best of luck to the OP. mike
Stick to one page if you can. Two or more pages should only be used if you have so much relevant experience that you need to expand it. Your cover letter is more important though. Perfect that to peak interest in you, and the employer's more likely to be forgiving if your resume's a bit on the longer site (as long as it's not filled with "fluff").
Objective is required. Keep it 1 page. Have a leadership addendum (this is big). List related courses taken. Do not include anything from high school. Go to monster.com and look at listing for the job your looking for and try and work keywords in, like "relentless pursuit of success". Type it up and send it over, I'll gladly (and confidentially) proofread it.
One page! I used to write resumes for extra money in college, and my resume "mentor" told me, no matter what, resumes should be one page. The rationale was that no one is that important or has that much of an impressive background that their resume should go beyond a page. I follow this like it's a cardinal rule! If my resume begins creeping past one page, I just modify and revise the descriptions I give under each job. Two pages in my opinion is ego-centric and arrogant.
I am 15 years old and I don't really write anything on my resume. I write phone number and my past job that I did and I actually get phone calls back from every were I apply at because everyone here needs workers.
I would only do one page, i know that some places that receive a lot of resumes will not even look at it if it's over a page!
