Obama knows that playing the proverbial race card isn't going to win him any votes, and this is why you haven't seen him do it yet, and you won't see him do it in the future. There's a reason Al Sharpton continues to be a failed politician...

From what I have seen of Obama so far is no racecards pulled. This I respect him for as a fellow human being.

Obama is already getting a huge percentage of the black vote. He is already playing the race card without saying so. I think mentioning anything about it now would only hurt his stance with white voters.

Obama doesn't need to play the "racecard" - In fact it would be detrimental to his campaign to do so. As others have mentioned he's already getting a very large percentage of the black vote in the Dem primaries and in the general election he'll likely get over 95% of it as he won't be facing a Clinton (the Clintons are quite popular among black folks)

Obama doesn't have to say anything to play the racecard. He's been slyly playing it ever since Oprah began supporting him. That way he wins the black votes without hurting his stance with white voters by announcing it in any way.

If he was ever going to play the race card it would be in the primaries since black people tend to vote democrats 90% so he won't need to play the racecard in the general election.

High voter turnout among blacks in the general election could be a huge advantage for Obama. Along with a high voter turnout among young people. Both of these voting blocks will be voting for Obama overwhelmingly so getting a big turn out would be extremely helpful. Already in the Dem. primaries there has been record turnouts among young people - and this is helping Obama to defeat Hillary.
