I keep hearing on the boards how blogs are indexed faster and updated quicker than web sites because you can ping Google every time you update. Does this mean that a blog is a better choice for an Affiliate site selling a product or service, simply because in the short run it will mean quicker indexing and better rankings in the SERPS?
Blogs are great at building quick traffic. I built a new site with a blog attached to the site for SEO purposes but quickly found the blog getting a good chunk of visitors everytime I write and currently have more visitors than the main site.
I'd say if you're going to have a web site you should have a blog with the same name so that you can drive traffic back and forth. When you have a web site you can build as many blogs as you want from it. donrock
Yes, have both. Your blog can act as you diary too; bit like a dynamic or "rolling"website. Link to each one from each one, that's what I do. I have mydomain.com, mydomain.com/niche & mydomain.blogspot.com
