Should My Affiliate Site Be on a Blog or Website?

I keep hearing how blogs are indexed faster and updated quicker than web sites because you can ping Google every time you update.

Does this mean that a blog is a better choice for an Affiliate site selling a product or service, simply because in the short run it will mean quicker indexing and better rankings in the SERPS?

Hm. I've noticed that, too. My related website is a blog :) Actually, one main domain, one subdomain and one blog. That's it.

with a blog, you probably will update it more frequently in a easier way. Since Google loves new content, blog is easier to get indexed.

Yes, more frequent update is one of the issues. In fact, I like the blogg-style and I think it is easier to write some content targeting my long-tailed keywords, and to write short entries in blog. At the same time, I'm trying to write pages for my websites targeting more competitive keywords. Hope it will work.
