    Hi,
The setting for interest based ads in Google AdSense - should it be turned off for better CTR? I have seen many people say that it can lead to low CTR.
    Thanks :)

Where do you see this in Adsense? Don't you mean Adwords?

I only know interest based ads in Adwords.

I don't think this should be turned off instead it should be on User's discretion whether he wants this service or not

What user discretion? Are we all not the users of AdSense? If it leads to lower CTR then why not turn it off?

I turned it off...if turned on it shows ads that may or not be interesting to your user based on their previous habits but if you have a targeted niche blog they will not see ads targeted to your niche most likely.

If you have a more general interest site that has no particular niche, I would suggest leaving it on... but the only way to know for sure is to turn it off and test the results for the first few hundred clicks. If you have a niche site (i.e. buying a camera) then I would suggest turning it off.
