I want to create a store than sells logos, banners, icons and other web graphics. It would be something very similar to http://logo-monster.com. logomonster uses oscommerce, but I am still unsure if this is the best choice. Is it easy to sell downloadable products with oscommerce? Thanks.
OScommerce has a ton of contributions. I'm sure they have one for digital downloads. You can find their contributions on this page: http://www.oscommerce.com/community/contributions Here's something that might work for you: http://www.oscommerce.com/community/contributions,2495/category,all/search,product+download I can't speak for Zen cart. I never used it.
Hmm Ill check it out. I guess oscommerce would be fine because I basically want my site to be just like logo-monster.com, just bigger and cheaper. I installed it on a test site and it looks pretty easy to use. thanks.
I've installed a few contributions myself and I'm not much of a coder. I have ran into some that were to complex for me. I found someone who could install it for me. There are a lot of people out there knowledgeable with OScommerce. If you run into problems installing a contribution you can always hire someone to help you.
I think cubecart is also good for downloadable products. there's also a free seo mod which i like a lot...
if you are looking at oscommerce just use Zen Cart or CRE Loaded since they are oscommerce with many of the most popular or requested contributions already installed. Virtuemart is good if you want an open source CMS with an oscommerce shopping cart
