Should I use vBulletin or my own script?

I created a decent php forum script but I want to know if lets say the site gets fairly active, will my script be able to handle all the users?

My script is pretty much just pagination, and mysql queries, no administration panel whatsoever.

The real question is this - if it turns out it can't, is it worth the $160 license to not have the gigantic headache working on your script might be? Personally I'd pick vBulletin if I know it'll be an active site :)

Beside being able to handle great amount of users, vBulletin attract members too. Think of it.

Well I already had vbulletin and I just don't like the way it looks because of its massive use of tables.
