Hi, Should we use the GA code on current website when we switch to our newly re-designed website, or should we get a new account/code for the updated site? Your suggestions needed!
You can use current code to new website, there are nno risk and you will able to compare for the past if you want, don't move to another account or profile.
Most definitely keep the same GA code for each redesign otherwise you have no historical data to compare it to. If traffic goes down you know where to look. If traffic goes up you can point that out and give yourself a big pat on the back!
assuming you have taken the old version of the site down, you can reuse the old code. You can see the past performance in the GA history
If the new site sits on the same domain name, keep Google Analytics old code since that is the domain's background history.
