I own an insurance agency quoting website and trying to decided on the domain to use. Traffic will be coming from door hangers with the website address on them. Would quotestx.com (which I own) be a reasonable web address to put on the flyers? I have found some better domain names under the .biz extension but didn't know if people would have a hard time putting it in. Input?
And "quotestx" wouldn't be hard to put in? Jeez, I had to look at it three times to make sure the spelling was right. If you have a domain you really like, that matches what you do, but it is only in the .biz extension, get it. I'm not one of those who are brainwashed to think that .com is the only way to go. In fact, many times .biz works better for a lot of sites. Your advertising and how you word it is what makes the difference anyway.
Get both if you are unsure For my domain i got the .biz extention although im not doing anything with it now.
Here is what I've looking at: QuotesTX.com VS. (Keyword)(Keyword).biz The keywords are targeted. Which would be better for the doorhangers I am printing?
It seems that it might be best to try both. You need to consider: What would it cost? The domain is very cheap + the printing costs of some test flyers. How many sales would you have to have to cover the costs?
Ok... I just bought the .biz name. QuotesTX.com VS. HealthQuotes.biz which would be more effective on my door hangers?
That is a good .biz. What would it cost to buy 1,000, or more, of each flyer? I would think a local printer would work with you if you explained the situation and hinted that further business would result after you test.
Well, doorhangers.com sells 10,000 flyers for $300. My average sale is about $700 in commission, so we're not talking much to break even here. There will be some expense/effort in putting the door hangers out. I would consider 1 sale break-even. I'm hoping for a 1% conversion which would give me 100 leads I should close at least 10% (conservative) of those leads which equates to 10 sales Gross commissions=$7000 I think these numbers are realistic. Cut them in half and it's still worth doing.
I'm thinking the .biz as wells. Much easier to type healthquotes.biz plus it's pretty targeted since I'm selling health insurance.
I don't really care if my client remembers it though. The web address will be going on a door hanger. If they choose to visit my site, the door hanger will be in front of them. So, really the question is which one is easier to type in? The downside to me of quotestx.com is the strange name The downside to healthquotes.biz is the .biz, but it does have the upside of two easy and targeted keywords. Please throw SEO out of the window on this. Frankly, I will never compete with the other 5 million insurance sites. That is not my objective. I am merely using the site to harvest leads and provide quotes for prospects using the door hangers. Thanks!
This is a unique situation - if your choice is an odd .com url, or an easy to remember .biz, go with .biz. But as other have said, going with both is even better.
