Use your own domain, reason being if one day your blog becomes famous and popular, if you are with blogger, it will still be under a subdomain of blogger and is not yours. Migration is tough and you may lose a lot of traffic in the process. But if you have your own domain name with your own WP, not only does it gives you more flexibility and also allow you to sell out when your blog gets popular.
IMO, Use blogger and then later when you are sure with your hosting get a domain and redirect people to your new location. Hosting is the oly pain with own domain
also, i put this blog up and got 300 hits the first day and been still getting them... is that good numbers?
If you are serious in blogging , then get your own domain name and hosting. I blog at blogger platform before migrated to self-hosted wordpress blog, it was not easy the first time playing with wordpress, but over time you will see the benefits.
It's better to use your own domain. You can do what you want but if you have no budget on buying domain, you can still use some free blogs platform.
I use blooger very very easy to use. I bought a domain for it so it doesn't have .blogspot although I have seen Page Rank 6 blogs with blogspot.com. I would say for a professional blog, use Word Press or Type Pad as better templates available.
The answer is what ever you choose. The guy who owns makemoneyforbeginners.blogspot.com is number 6 for the term make money online on google. Number one is also a blogspot blog but I haven't read that blog yet.
Imho, not many people take blogger/blogspot seriously anymore. It's overflowing with junk blogs. Having your own domain is definitely the way to go.
I would go for own domain and Wordpress. WP is itself SEO-friendly and easily customisable with tons of plugins.

If I need to buy a blog text link ads, I won't consider a blog on BSP. It's hard to estimate the Google ranking and Alexa ranking. I prefer to give your own domain a vote, not BSP(blogger/blogspot).
Well you can slways start out for free with Blogger and then you can upgrade your domain to anything you want that is available for 10 bucks. So start out free then buy.
get a domain and use a blogger blog this way its good as you get some traffic from blogger also your site gets indexed fast and it looks professional too there are many blogger blogs on top
We have done both and currently prefer blogger. Reason being like with your own you need to support it and if it goes screwy on you can be a pain in the butt to revive. But, even more importantly... Google owns Blogger and gives preferential treatment to content found there! Yay!
