Should I Use A Post On My Blog Or Create A HTML Landing Page?

    Hi,

I've got a blog thats running wordpress and I was hoping to run a campaign or 2 using Adwords.

I've done one before where I made a post on my blog, and then used that as the "landing page" but I wasn't too keen on this because on each post I make I get Adsense displayed, and loads of other clickable things on the landing page (which I don't want the visitors to get distracted by) as I have affiliate links on the landing page that I do want them to click.

I'm wondering, am I best to make a normal HTML page and then upload it to my blog? Will I still get a good quality score this way (I think that a post made on my blog would have good quality score but not sure how it works if I just upload a HTML page to my site).

    Would appreciate any help...

    Thanks

Please could anyone help advise me - in terms of Google and their quality score/site ranking, do you know if its best for me to use a normal blog post, to use a blog template, or to create a static html page and upload to my blog site?

    Thanks for any help

    It's doable via Wordpress.
But make sure you can edit the meta tags, h1 and all those stuff to boost quality score.

If you have difficulty in this, just create a raw HTML will do.

Concerning the QS not sure if this would help and you maybe already know about this but the plugin "All in One SEO Pack" helps me keep the SEO/SEM side of WP sites working better.

(Tried to embed a direct link but my post count says I'm not old enough yet :)

EDIT: Oh yeah you probably know this too. You can create a "Page" within WP and flesh it out more like a regular HTML page vs. just another blog entry. This can be based on a different template so you do have as many distractions (side bar, blog roll, various widgets, etc.)

I like Open's suggestion, a static `page` as opposed to a post would be the way to go. I'm not sure if you can have different sidebars etc for seperate pages though - it may well be doable, I'm just saying I am not aware of it.

My other suggestion would be a SECOND wordpress install in a different folder on your webspace eg http://secondinstall.yoursite.com . On this install you could recreate the blog with all the articles etc that will help with QS but you can leave off the advertising or anything you feel would draw people away.

Hmm, third suggestion is simply remove the ads for the duration of your campaign !! Keep it simple is my motto :)

Why not do both and test them against each other?
