Hi I need a second opinion on this from someone in the know.

Basically I have a website which is has two domain names. Now it has always ranked very well however recently, it has started to rank a lot worse, with the indexed pages devided up between the two domain names.

Now I requested that the second domain name was permently redirected using a 301 to the primary domain name. However I got this reply:

I dont understand the issue, as both DN point to the same site?

I would still like to push for this to be done. I was just hoping to check what everyone elser thinks.

    Cheers Nixies

Well if you got 2 domain names for the same business.. and 2 domain names for the same website, you have nothing to loose, do the redirect...

Just do a 301 redirect with your .htaccess file yourself.... Is that not possible?
