    Hi
I'm new in this domain name things, and I need a little bit of help. I don't find anywhere better to ask, hope I can ask it in this forum

I was looking for a host for my site, and I found it. I sent them my application, and later they replied me back saying that I could only get a subdomain. I wanted a domain name, so I brought one (my first domain name shop).
When I replied the host company, they told me I need to unlock my domain, and transfer it to them...

I don't feel like I should do this, but I need some help
I don't know anyone to ask if it's a good idea or not

    thank you

    1) you normally need to unlock the domain to transfer it to another registrar
    2) you DON't want to transfer to or to register your domain with your hosting company
    3) all you need to do is to change the nameservers for your domain in your current domain registrar with the ones provided by your hosting company

and if they insist, you probably should look for a better host, that does not look into locking their customers in the future contract renewals via holding their domain names

    hope this helps

they told me that the site will be very slow if I just change the nameserver, and they don't me to bother them with that, so I just had to transfer it to them, and everything will work just fine....
it really doesn't make sense to me

anyway, I better look for another host company, this was the best one with that price range, but this doesn't seem right to me

    thank you
