Hi, I am in India and I usually accept payments in USD. Now, a client offered me payment in AUD. He'd pay me a slightly different rate and which AT PRESENT would work out slightly more when converted to USDs . I just needed to know how USD compares to AUD in general. I mean, do the prices fluctuate a lot? Can it help me ? Any views are welcome. .. Guide me guys what should I do? PS: I am from India
yup the rate is different and hence it must be fluctuating ... so I was wondering whether a small rise in rates will be able to offset future lowerings of USD against AUD?
Just like any other currency, conversion rate for AUD would also fluctuate. It is tough to predict the forex market or any market... for that matter! If you are worried of its fluctuations, you can always withdraw and convert it into INR... immediately! Regards, RightMan
yeah that's cool but she's a long term client and I may get stuck with sad rates if USD rises against the AUD.
It is the business risk you will have to take... but since last 3 months, the rate is pretty steady between 0.86 to 0.93! Regards, RightMan
Have a look at Xe's comparison feature. http://www.xe.com/currencycharts/?from=USD&to=AUD You could also use their historical rate table feature- http://www.xe.com/ict/ and then make your decision.
Hey, There is only 2-3rs difference now....so accept the payment and enjoy the work . I too have some Australian clients, so thats not a big deal to bother about
I think that sticking with USD will be a better option, unless of course I can convince the client to go back to USD if the AUD suffers a setback !!
USD id better preffered.. Why did you allow him to give in AUD... You should verfiy before you start their work...
oh I did . She was paying in USD since past 10 months now she has only "offered" (it is not yet decided) to pay me in AUD not in USD so that even I will get some extra on each payment and she may also have some ease as she is from Australia. But I was a bit hesitant as I am unsure of the charges that are applied by PayPal while converting. So, anybody who receives payments in AUD and knows how profitable it turns out in the end after PayPal conversions and all.. please let me know .. (BULK of my payments come in USD and only 1 client wishes to pay in AUD so I will need to convert to USD before withdrawing)
be prepare for a Rape. PP conversions are deadly. and u must be set ur mind for that. Yes, you must lose some $$ every time., but its the game. what u receive is that what u get. that's all.
I have the same problem before it is much better to take payment through USD since you dont need to convert it anymore with USD later on ...You will need to pay some fees when your going to convert the payment
Why do you need to convert? PayPal allows you to have multiple currency balances. AUD is one of their listed currencies.
