Should I submit articles to directories and publish them on my site? Are there any problems with duplicate content. I have heard that it does matter and from other places that it does not matter.
I can only share my experience.... I have always been on the understanding UNIQUE content is king and as i use contentboss to wrangle a unique version of an article. so i take my article publish it on my site and then wrangle it and publish a unique version on a number of directories - easy peasy and takes all the hassle out of manually rewriting. this works for me.
Sometimes I add the articles to my site and sometimes I don't. When I do add the same articles to my site, I try to reword them a bit.
Do not put the same article that was on your website onto an article directory. This is considered duplicate content and more than likely the article directory will be the authority website which means they will carry it in the search engines before you.
Forget this seo "duplicate content" crap. The question you should have to ask is why would you post the same articles on your site that they have already read?

In general - it is not a good idea. If you have low PR on your personal website, chances are you should submit the article to an article directory. This is especially true if you are targetting keywords. The type of content you should submit on your website should be less focused on keywords and more focused on quality unique content until you have gained more web recognition.
I'll always post the article on my site a few days, if not a week, before submitting them to article directories
This is not a good way to get the advantage of backlinks. You will never get advantage from the duplicate content. So if you publish 4 unique article in the article directories and one in your website then it is much better than to submit 1 article to 100 of article directories.
If your site is new,then u can submit more articles to get traffic and backlinks but if your site is already established,then its better to add content to your own site itself.
