It's against our T&Cs that every website suggester agrees to - most without bothering to read them I guess - so the answer is don't do it, it can do harm and it's directory abuse. That's so last century
Exactly! I think you shouldn't waste your time. Also, don't worry, nothing happens if your site doesn't have a link from DMOZ. There are TONS of other high quality backlink opportunities out there.
I don't believe people would pay for a link in a dead-link and hijacked-domain farm like DMOZ. Google has become so good, even link pages on websites have become passé, there is no point anymore. If there are idiots that pay for a DMOZ listing, they deserve to get ripped off.
