Should i sell my directory?

Changes wich are about to happen in my private life / daytimework, will prevent me from promoting my directory the way it should be promoted.
I have been working hours and hours every day, for almost a year, promoting my directory to get it where it is now:

Mods installed, custom layout, Nice pagerank, nice Pagestrenght, 55.500 incoming links (yahoo) rated 11th place at http://directoryrate.com with a DR of 8.1
Top Results in the Big Searchengines for 'web directory' and 'web directories'
Listed on several pages at Seocompany.ca etc. etc. Like i said, the hard work is finally paying off, and im really happy with that!

I always wanted a quality Directory like i have now, and my plan is/was to build it further and make it grow more.. With the changes that are (probably) about to happen in my life i will not be able to give my directory the attention it desurves for atleast a couple of months. So im trying to decide wich is best, keeping my directory, or selling it now?

    Any thoughts on this guys?

Also i wonder what the value will be if i decide to sell it now?

Its better to pass it on to a good owner than let it fall in value and die a slow death:)

Selling may benefit the sites listed as a new owner good promote it hard.

Value will probably be around 5-10 months revenue, plus other factors like content, backlinks, traffic etc.

I agree with mikey, better to sell it onto someone who can take care of it if you have other responsibilities.

Should create a topic on the sitepoint forum. Also you should set a minimum bin IMO, but I guess that is optional.

i dont want to sell it shivam.. Unfortunatley it looks like i dont have many other options as im leaving the country for a couple of months and dont have time to give it the attention it needs.. I put a lot of work and all my passion into this directory. Still looking for ways to keep it for myself..

Why don't you just hire someone to manage it until you are back?

If there is so much potential in the site why would you want to sell it ? Just curious.. I would take some time away from it for a little while and then come back to it when you've got more free time but I woudln't just let it go entirely.. when there's still money to be made from it.

Make sure you list it on sitepoint market place. You will get a better price there:)

I think you can find a person that can manage your web directory 'til then, try and work out a deal like a profit share until you get back.

If you however, wish to sell the web directory I would strongly advise you to check out SitePoint forums, you are more likely to find serious buyers over there.

Why haven't you put sold any sponsored links?
I think bye selling featured links you can make somewhere around $800, as per my calculations.
Because most of your categories pages are having PR5, so you can get buyers easily.
and you can hire some trustworthy person to manage your site for few months.
So when you get free there wont be much change in your site.
