You see, I just completed coding a dll that decodes craigslist's captcha with about 80% accuracy in about .79 - 1.3 secs (Based on a test with 5000 images) It was mainly for my personal use but I was wondering if I should sell it instead? I'm sure it will be useful for programmer's who need a plug and play dll to handle the captcha recognition part and focus on the actually coding of the current application. What do you think? was thinking in the 60 - 140 price range.
It will be better if you give it out free. Money is not everything. On the other hand $50 should be fine. Peace,
You can give first few copies for $20 then increase price and so on , at DP unless the product is proven you may not find many takers for $140.
$50 is too low. I'd probably buy it for $60 -$75 USD if I needed it for a project, TBQH. Just set up a demonstration that will let someone upload a captcha code (from file) and test it to see how well you do. No need to drop the price to get people to buy then. P.S. Can you do the same with other captcha codes? I'd keep you in mind for projects like that if you could.
There are already many CAPTCHA breakers for free out there with higher success rates (including craiglist). Peace,
That's a very high success rate - if he were to give it out for free / cheaply Craigslist could easily manipulate their captcha and render it useless. I say sell it to few people for more money, making everyone happy .
There are other captcha stand alone programs out there for $39 so you may want to take that into consideration.
