Should I Reveal my Age on the Internet?

Discussion in 'General Chat' started by kidtechguru, Oct 19, 2008.

Someone from Twitter sent me a message - "Some of your stuff looks interesting but here's some advice from a parent - dont tell people your age on the internet. Could be dangerous."

I'm a 14-year-old male blogger. So do you think I should reveal my age on the Internet?

Do not reveal your age or personal particulars on the Internet. There are far too many predators around and also identity stealing is getting notorious for the Internet. Keep your private particulars and information private.

I see no problem revealing your age but do not divulge other specific personal information.

I think if u r really an honest guy then nothing wrong telling people your age. Like I am 28 now. So nothing is wrong here. In this way u can get your age group friends around you.

    I second that..
It can be very dangerous if you become a victim of identity theft.

You have already revealed your age and pages here are quickly indexed by Google so your age is already on the Internet. Now, no need to bother. :D
