We've made new site's design and created some new pages for our website. Should i remove off the old version of our website The old pages still bring little traffic.
It might become a problem if you remove old pages and someone clicks on an existing link pointing to that page. I'd say redirect those old pages to one with similar content. Or redirect all of them to a central page where you explain the old page no longer exists, but if they were looking for X, they might find it on Pages 1, 2 or 3
As brand35 says just use redirects to send the visitor to a new version of the page or make a standard page for all the old pages explaining due to a redesign the page no loger exists.
For google, you can request for removal of that indexed page on the search engine through google webmasters tool.
It doesnt matter what the page was made in, if visitors & search engines access that link you should redirect using a 301 redirect to the most relevant page on the new site. This way you wont give visitors a horrible 404 page not found error, and you pass linkjuice from the old page, as well as making it easier for search engines to crawl the new pages
hi mate, when you are getting traffic... then what is the use of removing it.... Moreover removing it can lead to broken links and all stuff..... So keep it as it is and ENJOY!!
