Hi, I have recently registered two domains for a serious business. I mean, I am going to make two websites on them and I do not have any intention of website flipping. I want to run them for as long as I can. So, my question is: Should I register the domains for more than one year (2,3 or more) for SEO? Or this does not affect SEO? Kindly, tell me what should I do? From what I have heard, yes it does matter. A site less than one year old can be thought of as a potential spam site... Therefore yes its definately worth while having a domain registered for at least 2 years.
It probably does have a teeny weeny part to play in their algorithm. If you have the cash and don't intend flipping the sites, do it. You'll be protected against future price hikes too.
Cash is also a problem due to problems with PayPal that I am facing. This is why I want to know the importance of domain registeration period for SEO. Does google sandbox newly created sites with less than one year remaining in their expiration?
You should be able to pay with your credit card. As for your second question, I've personally never bothered to do research in this direction, but I think the number of years for which a site is registered is not a factor for the sandbox.
