I think you should keep your work until you have savedd enough money to live on for atleast 6month. If something goes wrong, you got 6 month to try to work it out.
Unless you earn around $8,000 a month and consitently month on month, I would not quit the day job. That income should ideally come from various streams and have at least one or more really good sites. I say $10,000 because it gives a cushion just incase earnings fall dramatically in some months.
If you are earning enough to live off and you've got a backup plan or funds in the bank to survive off if the Adsense income disappears then yes IMO.
I agree with qwestcommunications. And in addition, you should not focus only in adsense. What's gonna happen to you if you suddenly get banned from adsense. Find other sources of income and when you are getting good, fixed income from them, that's the time to quit your day job.
You can do, if have faith in yourself. I did it nine months back....without single penny in pocket and without any business plan. To be safer side....make sure you can do what ever you have hints in your mind. As suggested, do not depend on adsense. Make it as side income. Also, get ready to work harder after leaving the job.
i think you shouldn't. isn't it better to have more source of income? keep the job, keep the web income and find more!
Depends on what you earn of course. But remember that quiting your day job would make adsense your new day AND night job. Do you want that ?
jobs provide benefits/401k - if you are making $80,000 a year at your job = $40/hr @ 2000 hours for 50 weeks. Factor in benefits/vacation/sick time/401k/retirement --- if adsense can match all those things quit -- if not use adsense as a retirement fund and retire 10 years early
Depends on what your day job is. Are you a fry cook at McDonald's or a high end developer at a respected firm? Past that there is more than just your income from your job, remember: 401K, insurance, tax, other benefits, job security.
