I have only amazon link on my amazon' associate sites.
I want the visitor do the "One Thing" .. it is to click the link.

The link has to be above the fold and stand out.
I have not tested the mix ads yet, but so far I got very good CTR with amazon text link alone.

I always test this things. With most sites I make more money by advertising amazon products alone. But in some cases (rarer) I make more money when I add adsense.

I agree so it is best to test which one works best and go with it.

Amazon & Adsense is perfect partner. Somehow I prefer to put Adsense to most of my websites, because one click of Adsense mean something, while one click of Amazon link doesnt promise you something :D

I would combine adsense and amazon -
If you have a good content, your visitors will either click on adsense or Amazon link, either way you will make some money.

The good thing about Adsense is that you earn with every click, which is not the case with Amazon links.

Well it's always true it's best to test everything. You may want to do a 50/50 split and see what has the highest profit potential for you. The truth is some niches do better with Adsense while others do better in Amazon. My personal belief is to never mix the two, I want to see where I am going to get a higher profit from and then I will stick to either one or the other. I don't like to give my visitors a whole lot of choices on these types of sites, but that's just my opinion:)

It depends on the price of the item you are selling from Amazon. If it has a low ticket price, say $25 or less, then yes it is okay to add Adsense to your Amazon sites because the amount you get per Adsense click would be close to what you can make selling your Amazon product. But, if the selling price is above $25 don't give them a "cheap" way to get off your page. Adsense is a good program, but it is "One Click & Gone".

    Just my 2 cents....

Unless you are in a niche that provides really high-paying clicks (stock brokerage, forex, life insurance, etc.), don't bother. My electronics blog generate a $20+ CPM through Amazon alone (not counting CJ, individual affiliate programs), while Adsense clicks might bring in 20 cents each. Not worth sending off the traffic for so little money.
