I heard that Microsoft are selling windows 8 for just 39 $. it is about their pro edition, i am very much interested to try the new windows but is it worth spending the money ? Please tell me what do you guys think, has anyone tried it till now ??
I wouldn't Windows 7 is way better. 8 is more of a tablet OS. I really don't think you should switch, I used 8 for a bit and hated it.
I would not waste my money if I were you. When I looked at it, I thought it was full of crap. That would be the last thing I'd buy right now.
I am glad someone also got help from this thread. And still hoping to hear more reviews from people who have tested it
I have used Windows 8 Pro (RTM) and tested it. It's far better than the Windows 8 Release Preview which I tested before few months. I'm sure, I'm going to upgrade from Windows 7 to Windows 8 Pro. But I recommend you to try before buy. Because there will be many negative and positive talks about it. So the real thing is, if you like then buy it. If you don't then don't buy. After Jan 31, 2013 you won't get the chance to upgrade @ $39 from your previous Windows OS (XP/Vista/7)
No chance, i didn't found any good feedback on windows 8, wait for sometime and read their feedback. if you got good feedback then must by it.
Let's look at this from a financial standpoint instead of the merits of Windows 8 for a moment. You may never get the chance to buy the license at this low of price again. Even if you do not intend to install it until after a service pack is released and issues are ironed out, you can save money by buying the license now. This also guarantees you will be in line to get discounts on the next iteration of Windows in a couple of years at the lowest price which may not be offered to people who only have a Windows 7 license. I'd say buy it, put it on the shelf, and wait for the dust to clear.
You have to read windows 8 feedback, if they are good then buy it otherwise leave it. may it contain bugs...
I upgraded a couple of days after it came out and I'm glad I did. At first I was skeptical, being a music producer and needing to use a lot of software and plugins that I wasn't sure would be compatible with Windows 8, only one wasn't which I can work around. Other than that, I really love the design and intuitive layout of Windows 8, sure it takes a little getting used too, but for me it's great. I'm just a sucker for design, BUT, it goes beyond that. Additions such as file history and multiple monitor improvement as well as pinning apps does wonders for productivity in my opinion. If you're not too sure, why not try installing it on a Virtual Machine or Hard Drive partition? Try it out before you make the switch
