Should I provide coupons to affiliates?

I am using an affiliate management company to do a variety of things to help us along with selling through affiliates. They are asking that we provide coupons to help the affiliates.

To me it sounds like I am paying them a commission and doing part of the selling job for them. The affiliate commissions and management already cost around 10% of sales so I am wondering about the wisdom of supplying coupons or promo codes? Any thoughts are appreciated.

many companies provide coupons thats what the coupon websites can live on. The owners of these websites get coupons from the networks and provide them to the visitors you will find there are so many coupon websites and many of them have great traffic they can bring you lots of sales by giving away your coupons most of the sales will still belong to you even if you have no coupons but i must say the coupons do work just do not use it too much
    hope this helps:)

Thanks cashclix, that makes sense. You reminded me that I noticed a competitor had their coupons every where last year, at the same time they were affiliate marketing. I will start supplying coupons now.
