Should I promote one of my sites URL's if it got a PR3 without ANY SEO services at all?

The other url I promoted a crap load and spent a crap load of money got a PR2. I am wondering if I would be better off not promoting it since google gave it a PR3 straight up. Maybe they punished the PR2 link for using directory submissions so I shouldn't use that method again. Dunno. Are there any safe methods someone could provide besides buying backlinks on high PR sites? thx.

    PR3: xeenit.com/directory/index.php
    PR2: xeenit.com/directory

I was about to post and explain that SEO services (and the SEO Forum) are nothing to do with pagerank in this way, then I got to the bottom of the post and realised it was a directory related post.

Seriously, why would a directory submit to other directories? I'm getting really bored of the lame directory rubbish. At least keep it in the directory forum so that anyone wanting to discuss real SEO can ignore it ;)

Would depend on your accepting procedure too... That is if your directory lists good sites then other may want to refer it. Think about paid and other traffic methods to get relevant visitors to your directory. It would increase the value of your directory which would leave to natural links..

You may also want to stop advertising on your site until you come to a stable position (even after that sheer advertising can reduce directory value).
