Should I ping Google with the websites of my guest-post articles?

I'm trying to get my site indexed in Google naturally, I don't really want to tell Google to come crawl my site or request indexing directly from Google.

So I have gotten some back-links in a guest post on another website, but it's taking a little while for Google to index all my site's pages, and I'm not sure it has crawled my backlink on the external site yet.

Could I now just ping google to come crawl the site where my backlink resides? Would that work?

ping the site using something link pingfarm but it does not mean you will get indexed fast. 1 link from a blog is nothing.. why not try getting some social bookmarks with well spun anchors / description.. you don't need many but say 100 will get you indexed nice and quick.
