Should I pass google a note?

Yesterday my site was linked to a very popular freebie forum, and in turn posted on more freebie forums. My site that normally gets about 50 uniques a day went to about 250 uniques for the day and in turn I had my highest adsense day ever :D The trend is continuing today. Should I pass google a note letting them know about the increase in traffic and where it is coming from? Or do you think I will be ok? I appreciate any advice. Thanks!

If your worried then there is no harm in telling them but I dont think your traffic increase should be concern. It would be different if it was 50 visits per day that jumped to 5,000 over night, alarm bells would probably start ringing!

G will see the increased impressions. Now, if your CTR went to 50% or something then yea be worried, otherwise no.

Whole idea of having a website, is to get links to it.
    Then traffic to it.
Then convert some to sales, some to adsense income.
I would never complain or question here if my sites all of a sudden got a bunch of back links that brought in tons of traffic.

Basically, a non event for you as far as google.
    You aint doing nothing wrong.

Which brought a thought to my mind.
What if your site is a good content site about, say, travel and all the back links came from porn sites?

If you have links from porn sites it is referral spam or scraper porn sites trying to high jack your keywords! :D

I meant to say, regular back links from porn sites.
Say the porn site puts a good text link for your site telling everyone, go here to get your next vacation.
Nothing about porn on the ad, etc.
Just a good back link to your site.

On another thread somewhere, someone is selling links on his porn site right now.
