After 15 hours of wait time i got my website's link to rank & time to rank from upmysite.io
the figures makes my head spin !!! it tells me that i need 85,600 positive signals to reach front page of Google & Bing. Is it really a feasible count? Do anyone has any idea on how upmysite calculates these figure? I was hoping to rank my website but after this estimate im totally devastated and planning to shut down my site as im never have time or money to build so many links.
Does anyone had this done before? Their estimate on "Time to Rank" was pretty convincing it says 7 months !
My website is about technology news related website and my goal is to promote gadgets like laptop, mobile etc. with amazon affiliate links. my site is 1.5 years old.

Go back to your business plan. Look at your niche and how you'll serve it. Then crunch the numbers and see if you can make it work.

If you zero in on something specific that you can do better you might be able to work it.

Don't be a copycat, there are too many bad sites promoting tech and regurgitating news.

Thanks for the motivation :) but im not getting you, you are saying about the optimization OR to change the niche ? Do you think promoting multiple products on a site is a thing of past? or is it possible to rank in a broad horizon ?

    You're wasting your time.
The number of backlinks your site has is completely irrelevant.
If it were that easy, everyone would simply be buying or building more links.

Focus on building something that adds value to the web. Something that's built with people in mind.
    Not search engines.

First of all, don't get confused with positive signals and backlinks. They are not same. A upvote on reddit can be considered as positive signals so is the retweets. However these signals are not backlinks.

At the same time I strongly think that backlinks do have a decent share within that mentioned 85,600. But it would be dumb to assume, you will need exactly that number of backlinks to rank your website in Google. Because not all the links have same value when it comes to SEO. And if some tool is suggesting to build a particular number of backlinks for ranking, it would be logical to abandon the use of that tool.

It says 85,600 links metric is meaningful only when we use their platform, its not a universal metric like DA, PR etc.

ALL websites have rank even if they have NO backlinks, so anyone saying that you need backlinks to have rank is a LIAR.

Focus on your visitors. If you do that EVERYTHING else will take care of itself.

We have kids coming on here wanting their reviews for their copycat websites where they add no value and have no expertise. It's all part of a learning curve for them and they'll be better for the experience.

I'm perplexed by the identity you're presenting - the photo doesn't match your IP and is way younger than your purported age. Maybe you are just another of the kids having a go. If you're not, and you really don't have time to waste then do a proper business plan. Download a template, look at your strengths and weakness, and those of your competitors. Do you have an edge, some specialist knowledge that will make people trust you over the better-established tech forums?

Ultimately you might choose a broad topic, or you might zero in on an emerging technology and exploit it for a few years and then move onto the next big thing. Or you might go for something completely different like "funny stories from my day" if you have the humorous writing skills exposure to the quirkier members of society.

That tool is trash, don't even need to try it from seeing the results you were given.
Forget about backlinks and off-page seo for now. People get so consumed with this and don't realize 90-95% of ranking happens on-page/site.

With your site being 1.5 years old you are beyond the filter most call the sandbox. So if you're still not ranking it's definitely an on-page issue, whether that is quality or on-page elements. When in doubt always check your competitors that are ranking first page for your target keywords to see what they're doing, these are the sites google is telling you they like.

Check competitors use of the following:
    Title-how the keywords are used

    URL structure

H tags-H1,H2,H3,etc. Is every site on the first page using H3's and you have none on your page? Add an H3 if needed. Have way more H2's than competitors? Then remove some until you are inline with the average , etc. It's not always about increasing factors, sometime you can be over optimized as well on some elements and need to decrease.

Use the target keyword within the first paragraph/100 words of your article-even if competitors don't.

    Image Alt-fill this in

Outbound link-always try to link out to one authority site within your article but not a competitor and NEVER to Wikipedia(this tactic has been overused and a red flag for google, especially if you do this dozens of times on your site)

Internal links- always link to another "relevant" page on your site. This helps user experience and lowers bounce rate and increases "time on site" metrics.

Schema-if you're doing reviews DO schema to get the star ratings in search results. A lot of people are missing this easy win, search results with star ratings get better click through rates.

Word count of article-if everyone on page one (for your keyword term) has an average of 2500 words and you only have 500 words-good luck.

This is just a handful of on-page seo ranking factors and unfortunately most do not even implement a fraction before focusing on backlinks and off-page. If on-page is not correct you can throw a million links at a page and it still not rank. Hopefully this helps.

**Please update poll with a "this tool is trash" option lol
