Hello everyone.I am about to devolop one of my websites pretty soon.I have few doubts over certain things like is directory submission same as link building?
And is directory submission regarded same as getting a backlink from a website?
And is social bookmarking same as back links or directory submission. Can someone please explain to me in regards to fast indexing and getting featured in the first page of google which is the most important factors to care?
And one more question I need to ask is while doing social bookmarking and directory submission should I use the link attribute,ie the href=a thing like how we use that for linking my site for getting backlinks?

Directory submission is one of the lowest forms of link-building. there are a very few directories worth being in - most are basically link farms with little if any PR.
Most social bookmarking is nofollow, you can argue til the cows come home what the value of nofollow links are, but the bottom line is, it's not really what you're looking for in link building.
What it usually comes down to is, the easier a link is to get, the less value it has.
In either case, you normally aren't given much leeway for the format of your link. Use a keyword-rich anchor text if you can.

Directory links are as low as forum links. They really are not that good.
