    Hello !
I have arround 8800 indexed pages from my directory wish PR is 5 .
    Currently its a paid/free/recip Directory .

Should I change to Just Paid and develop some price ranges after 10 000 indexed pages?
I am getting arround 300+ UV from search engine and 150-200 for submissions .
I dont want to scare people away by moving to just paid, but I would want to monetize it a little more .

    What are your thoughts?

Yes, I think you should. I'd keep free w/recip and then charge a nominal fee for permanent listings with a couple of "featured" options.

One thing you have going for you is *indexed* pages. So many directories I look at have only the top level pages cached. When I see that, I don't bother to submit and certainly wont pay. But a dir with indexed deep pages is a very good sign to me, even if the page that my link will be on is PR0.

My suggestion would be keep it free. I liked it better as the band site it was up until a few months ago.

Dropped domains are not worth paying a review fee to be listed on.

    hahaha too funny.

I'll just never understand how people honestly think a dropped domain, that has absolutely nothing to do with a directory, will become anything. But hey, at least we know better and know the true initial intentions of the re-registered domain that had some PR on it; QBC

And how many of these dropped domains with page rank will keep that page rank with next google page rank update?

First off all, the domain was not dropped, at least what I can figure, it didnt actually expired and reregister .

Pages are indexed in google ( someone asked above )
I didnt ask for a review, I know its not the best and all that, I was just asking an opinion .

Thank you for your sugestions anyhows.

    Cheers

I think that free would be a best option and keep some ads on the site...

The free directories get a lot of attention and so do paid.

    FREE is best, IMO.

Also, i have added my website : rsdarkness.com to both of your directories.

    Thanks,
    ~ Mike

have a good look through your traffic stats and determine where people are mostly coming from - it seems an obvious thing to say, but if visitors are being referred to you from lists of high quality free directories, then you may see a drop in your traffic when you revert to paid

if obviously you are getting mostly organic traffic then I would consider doing it yes - especially if the quality of links being submitted is deteriorating somewhat!

    Just a minor update ...
Dropped domains dont rise in PR right? They eventually fall down in the next update or so ...

Well, today the directory went from pr5 to PR6 ...

    Felt like telling ..

See my perception of a dropped domain is this:

When a site drastically changes its purpose (whether it changes hands or not) this is a dropped domain (in my view).

The PR built up on the original site would have had backlinks built on a selection of specific search terms, terms that are now irrelevant to the new purpose of the site.

The result, Google hates irrelevant links, hence the majority of backlinks will be disallowed and your PR will drop or ultimately reset to zero.

Also remember that the PR we see is a snapshot- hence your 'actual' PR is probably already back to zero. In a word, you're domain is now worthless! I bet your bounce rate is pretty crap as well!!!

Just my thoughts on the subject.

This is usually the case. Your PR was based on quality incoming links about bands and such and now its a directory. With 300 visitors what search terms are they coming off of?
