Should I move this book from Plimus to CB?

    Hi,

I have a book on Plimus which I haven't started marketing yet - it's available at http://www.bachelordietmethod.com/. It just went live last night, so I can't report any sales numbers yet.

I've considered moving it to ClickBank for affiliates, since Plimus doesn't seem to attract a great deal of them in the ebook area. The only problems I have with moving are:

    1. The lack of coupons with ClickBank. It seems like a coupon is just one more thing in your toolkit to convince a buyer to act now, right?
    2. Plimus automatically takes care of the expiring download link, whereas, as far as I know at least, ClickBank requires you to figure this out on your own.

I'd probably bump the affiliate cut to 50%, leaving a $15 (or so, minus CB fees) profit for an affiliate. In my last post this seemed to be too little, as most affiliates are looking at $20 or higher?

(Also, I'll take any tips on my landing page via PM if you want to help me. I'd like to keep the thread as on-topic as possible.)

a lot of affiliates also check out commission fees and expect about a 75% cut. That may be a sticky point for some.

right. You will probably need to give away more of a %age.

If however your product converts like crazy you may get away with 50% ($15) but its a gamble.

I've been looking for a study or white paper that shows some proof re:CB's claim that raising the affiliate cut actually increases sales...anyone seen something like this?

It makes sense on the face...raise your promotion amount and more sales will come. I'd just like to see some proof, though.

why would anyone have done a study on this with actual results to show you. It's common sense the more money you give to affiliates the more affiliates will promote thus more sales, no need to do a fully investigation to figure that out

Not being funny mate but you are perfectly placed to test it.

Doing that will give all the proof you need for future products.

Why not run it at both?

You can put the product on CB with a different URL perhaps?

Also your 2 problems can be solved - 1. The lack of coupons - you can get a virtual smart agent to offer a discount or maybe set up a page with a discount for your list?

    2. Use DLguard and it will tkae care of the download link for you and keep your product safe.

If you need any help let me know.

    Hi tswartz,

Have you posted the launch / availability of your product in the Plimus community or forum ?

There are several ebook vendors that sell extremely well on the Plimus platform, so if you get some visibility within the network, affiliates will pick up your offers & run with them.

If you need assistance with highlighting your offers in the network- let me know, we can explore featuring it in a newsletter and a few other things.
