    You should add an "about" or "welcome" button/link - it took me a while to figure out what is the site about.
    Regarding your question on where it's best to place ads, I suggest you read the following short guide from Google on optimizing ad placement:

    tinyurls are not allowed in the posts of DP.
    You could only use it in your signature. So, better edit it before you get any infraction.
