Should I limit the number of items in my RSS feed?

    I created a RSS feed thru PHP for one my site.
    I notice that wordpress blog's feed show only the latest 10 items.

    Is this is a necessity? or limiting the items is our personal wish.
    Plz. share your inputs....

    It should not extend more than 50, 000 links per file and filesize should be less than 10 MB size. No matter how many links appear in wordpress.
