All of those and more.[/quote] Silverlight is Microsoft's attempt to compete with Flash. You may have read, recently, where Major League Baseball dropped Silverlight due to its poor performance. While IE8's CSS2.1 performance is now up to par of the other more modern browsers, a place they were all at years ago, it has subpar javascript conformance, no support for SVG, no support for XHTML, has not given proper support to the browser Document Object Model since 1998 (required for everything related to everything on the web. The current standard is at 2004, I think, which all other browsers supported years ago) all of which means you can't support RDF, and now I'm being called to dinner so I can't continue my list of things IE8 is incapable of supporting that ALL other browsers can do right now and years gone by. IE holds back the web.
nooooooooooooo don't do that. Instead try firefox ,opera or safari. And please for humanity don't install ie8.
ok, if you comparing to IE7 i think it is slight faster, and mere useful! Especially the accelerators. But in my opinion FF is much more functional. I miss the language settings for IE.. and sure same plugins as i use in FF. cheers
