hey guys, my forum is 3 years old. as of a year ago it sat on the second page of google and i just couldnt get to the first page, it has great content, maybe better than the dead forums that was in front of my.
by the way its a teen forum. my domain did not have teen in it so i deccided to go get a domain with teen in it to try and rank higher, was this a silly move?
should i have keeped my old domain?
since i changed my domain, like redirected the old domain to my new one, we have moved back to page 3 on google, will my site pick back up. i did all this about 2 weeks ago. after that i paid for one way links, crap loads more than my 3 year old domain.
    mmmm i seem confused,
need advice to set my mind as ease. thx

Should have kept your old domain, with this new one you now run the risk of building links to fast and getting sandboxed or penalized when google update their backlinks, happened to me once and had to start again as the site got knocked down to page 12 for every keyword.

best thing i can say now is be patient , dont rush things and build slowly.

Always build Quality related backlinks that look natural and with in time your site will climb back. Dont expect magic in 2 weeks though , could take months to get to page 1

if i was to find a pr3 teen domain aged at least 5 years old, would my site rank better againest my compaction?

    thx

I would say now you have changed keep it like it , if you keep changing things you will do more harm than good, although if you can get that domain for a good price you can redirect it to your site also. It may give you a little traffic from the backlinks it has and it will pass the PR on to your site which in time will help.

I remember when building one of my first sites i kept buying related domains and redirecting the to the main site, all of them contained different keywords which were related to my niche. Today the site is number 1 for nearly all the keywords it competes for and has been there for nearly 3 years now.

Whether them domains helped or not im not 100% sure but i like to think they did. ;)
