Hello some of you already knew I used to do English to Chinese translation or vice versa service, that's my part time job though.

I'm counted as an professional translator right now(after done almost 100+ jobs for companies and individuals), but many companies and as individuals declined my offer because they do not believe me and I have no proof as well.

So now I wanna know is it wise to start a .com blog to list my accomplishment of every job? I'm doing this translation service around one every several days and I still cant decide if I need a portfolio or not.

    thanks.

I don't see the difference between a .com or a cv if you're contacting people direct. At the end of the day, though, I think companies would go direct to an established online business than an individual. You could always offer to do a job for free if they have a lot of work.

Probably not a blog because blogs and portfolios are not as much for translators as they are for designers, coders, and such.

However, I would keep a copy of each job around, maybe in a folder called samples, and when you're advertising your service, or someone requests it you can send/show it to them.

The website for this kind of job is optional, but if you want to, go ahead and do it.

Hello and thanks for your comment, yes this job is my part time job, somehow I like it very much and sometimes I even spent 10 hours translating articles.

I would also want to make my service more well known so maybe one day if I get famous with this I may take this as my full-time job.

    blogging seem very common nowadays...
of course i would recommend to start a blog for promo your service. talk about your service, the company your worked before, make an archive for all your samples work.
if you register with blogspot, that's totally zero cost investment.

Are you allowed to show references from past clients? add that to your porftfolio. And yes, I would recommend getting one if you want more clients.
