Should i go with NOFOLLOW Backlinks

You are probably mistaking the PR leak because of nofollow. If you had 2 links going out from a site and one of them was nofollow, you would assume that one dofollow link will get all the juice. But that's not true, nofollow links reduce PR that's being passed to other links present on the page. (It's PR leak actually). That's not same as saying PR is passed 'to' nofollow links.

 

Sometimes when I check the backlinks for whatever sites are in my sig, sometimes they ARE nofollow.

 

Guess what, no follow links provide a countercheck for Google to know if your links are natural or not. If you get too many links in a month and all of them are dofollow, then it's one sign that you're link building. It's not natural to have all dofollow links every time.

 

@Mixednuts, thats actually a really interesting way of looking at it, almost like if its not a mixture then something is wrong, but too heavily weighted in either direction hints at some form of link building or another. Thanks for that comment very interesting.

 

No follow links can still be very useful, it can generate traffic for your site, just make sure that the link is related to yours. But still if you can build do follow links much better.

Generally speaking, all backlinks from decent sources would be helpful for ranking purpose if only they come with correct anchor text(usually your targeted keywords).
