    Hi Demonator09,

Drupal 6 is still at an early release (6.2) and probably won't be production ready for another 3-6 months. Design your site for Drupal 5, there is an upgrade path from 5 to 6 and the majority of the contributed modules will be available in Drupal 6 (do check though - some are not being ported to 6).

What does 6 give you over 5?
The main thing is speed - Drupal 6 is claimed to be 30% faster. There is also better Ajax support for a prettier front-end.

I would also suggest 5.x for the interim. There aren't enough modules for 6 yet.

It's overall a big improvement over 5. Like someone already said it's faster and more efficient, the user interface has improved a lot, security has improved, module development has been made easier and some cool new core modules have been introduced like Actions, Open ID, and some various language support modules. The only reason you shouldn't use 6 is if there's a module that you need that hasn't been ported yet.

i'm in the process of building a drupal based site, i would recommend 6.0X only if you manage to guarantee all the modules you need are 6x compatible. use http://drupalmodules.com to check
