I had a guy contact me, saying he wanted a copy of a link directory script I use so I told him, that i don't really sell it, and that you would have to know to how to program to set it up, and that there is no installer. But if he pays extra I will install it for him So he says he knows how to do it, so i sell him the files, and guess what, he can't figure out how to install it, so then he demands I help him. So I don't, now he wants his money back And is threating to file a fraud complaint with paypal.
Do you have copies of your correspondence? If so tell him you'll make them available to Paypal, highlight in an email to parts you've mentioned here. If so I'd offer to install it for him for a fee since he was warned that he may find it hard to set up.
As long as you were up front with him and put everything in writing you shouldn't have anything to worry about. Not to many people/companies offer refunds on software. He has the script and can't "return" it.
no it would not that be that difficult for me to install if you gave em all the info, but I was swamped with stuff at the time . he just got on my nerves, sending me 5 emails days asking when I had time to do it I think the fraud threat made want to tell him to go to hell. He doesn't want it anymore,
I change my mind, if he bought it for $100 after your warning that it requires knowledge to set the "product" up and he said he could cope, then tough I guess. Have you got all the corrospondance?
yeah its just a few bucks, and told him repeatedly there is no setup up or docs he also said he knew php, but then didn't know how to get a mysql database connection
If you offer a script with or without installation then it is up to the client to decide what to buy If you have the emails stating the installation fee then sod him To me its like going to the DIY shop and buying a kitchen and fitting it yourself - you would not get a refund if you cannot do it and there is a service avalible for that From a bussiness point - one upset client will tell ten others ect and Paypal normally comes on the buyers side I get it very rarely but if they are wrong and there is no middle ground then the call has to be made THe problem with scripts is its not like you can get it back as the client has a copy and its hard to keep track if they start using it in a years time ( unless you have a tracker in it )
if he paid for it as good, he can refute payment, if I don't have a shipping id, which obviously I don't
Ferret, after filing many chargebacks, and having many filed against me, I can tell you that there is no way on earth that he would win a complaint at Paypal. So, you have the decision now
The place of eternal damnation would freeze over before I refunded or installed him for it. You told him buyer beware. What a jerk. Shannon
I got this (and others) before... (Sorry for bad language) Sad people like that never do what they say anyway...
I hunted down his info It appearsall his domains are registered in fake names That might be against Godaddys terms of service I guess if he does anything I will find out
Geez, some people really need to relax a bit. Frankly, he can't use the software. That's not your problem. I could see his point if it just didn't work but it works fine for you so sod him.
Send him back 75 and keep the peace. After all, you admit you don't want the hassel, why have this hassel over a few bucks?
