Should I get this domain name?

So I found a keyword that has 10k-100k searches per month on google (according to keyword planner tool) and around 400k~ results on google when this keyword is searched (which is pretty good as far as I know). The keyword has 3 words and with those exact 3 words I can get the domain name. How much does having the keyword as a domain name really matter? I read that google is avoiding keywords as domain names these days.

    Thanks!

Yes, exact match domain matters in Google ranking but there are other things also matters like your website on-page, content etc.

Here are some interesting articles about EMDs:

having keywords in the domain is mute....

You can have keywords in your domain, and someone else not,
however, if they are doing a better job at marketing, then
they will rank higher then you, and your keywords in
    your domain will mean nothing....

I doubt having keywords in your domain will give you
any type of competitive edge, in fact, it may even hurt
you to some degree, google is looking for Branding....

If i were you, then I would ditch that idea,
and think how you can Brand yourself....

These days, you have to work like a mother Fuc$% to get
anywhere, google is not going to hand you the keys to the
kingdom just because you put keywords in your domain....
(that is never going to happen....)

You have to earn your way like everyone else....

I don't think domain names doesn't matter any more. And they certainly can't get you ranked. People should be focusing more on content and creating a strong backlink profile. I have seen plenty of sites with irrelevant domain name gets to the top of Google SERP's without making any effort because they have good link profile. Links which are coming high authority pages with relevant and natural anchor texts.

I actually had three keywords (exact match) and was still beat out by another domain that had no keywords in their domain. It probably helps a little, but not a main factor.

What you need to do is see if you're domain is safe to buy. Check way back machine, check past backlinks, check drops, check to see what the website was used for in the past. Lots needs to go into buying a domain name now, not just about keywords. Also, best thing to do is buy the domain through Google Domains. If there's any issues with your domain, at least you can contact them and see what's up. I never did this as I never had a reason to, but they have a live support chat for your domain account.
