    Hi,
i need a little assistance from you guys

I want to host some of my websites,, may be 5 to 10 only....

But i am confused what to choose , a reseller account or a VPS..

I don't want to host all domains on one shared package, i may get a few dedicated ips..

for reseller and vps http://www.jaguarpc.com/ and www.knownhost.com are under my consideration..

Both of them provide VPS at $20 per month with 128MB guranteed RAM .. will this work ??

    Looking for your responses

    Thanks

If you go with cPanel as a control panel, 128MB of RAM is way too little. You'll need to go with 512MB if you want cPanel. Personally, I would find a good semi-dedicated host. VPS's typically don't include management or a control panel. So both of those will be extra.

If you want to resell hosting packages then i will suggest you to go with reseller hosting. You will find it easy to setup accounts and to manage them.
You may try reseller hosting from Webhosting.UK.com though their prices are bit high but it's worth paying for service and uptime your get.

Well, i don't really need to resell hosting.. all i need is to manage my own websites easily.. I have employees and i want to give a control of each website to an employee... thats why i was confusing between reseller package and vps...

Is a VPS with 128MB enough for less than 10 websites?? the very first VPS package of knownhost and http://www.jaguarpc.com/ on $20 per month ??? , i don't need cpanel , i can use some other things like plesk(may need to pay for it too)

I'd suggest getting a VPS with atleast 256MB guaranteed RAM. Get one from a good provider (good reviews from real webmasters) who runs HyperVM based systems. You'll get a very functional and low resource intensive control panel called LxAdmin for free. It will cost under $20 total; why pay extra for bloated control panels?

Oops! I like and use DA too...but LxAdmin will be cheap and effective for his needs.

Dont get a VPS or any other dedicated server, its just waisting your time. Get a good reseller account. This way someone will manage your server for you and you just get a piece of it.

You will get more bang for your buck with a reseller account in your current situation. With a VPS you will have to learn to manage your server or pay someone to do it. It is not easy to keep a server up and running properly. You can run it in the default state, but you will be attacked and compromised.

Unless you want to manage a server or pay someone to do it for you stay away from a VPS.

I really hate reseller accounts its basically a shared account... many hosts oversell there shared and reseller accounts thats why i recommend a VPS or Server...

99% of hosts resell a VPS for $20 more than a reseller account. You will not get much of a VPS for $20. With a good host you will get a much better account, if you pick a good host.

If anyone is interested in my old shared host, the guys are still around at http://www.geekstorage.com/ -- they know what they are doing and dont oversell. I have no affiliation with them anymore, but I used to be a client and just grew too large for them.

IPs have nothing to do with hosting. You can have 1000 IPS, but the host ca oversell your hosting. I would look for a good reseller account with a non-overselling host. Like others have said, if you go with a VPS, they typically don't include any management and no control panel. Both of those features are extra usually. Also, Plesk typically requires 768 of RAM to run decent. Cpanel needs 384. Unless you have a big budget per month and want a VPS for some reason, I would just stick with a reseller account.

Edit: I can recommend Total Choice Hosting. I used them until I outgrew them.

I'd recommend a VPS since you'll have comlete control for few more bucks than you buy a Reseller account.

Use LxAdmin, since you need to use VPS for your own sites, it will be sufficient and its no resource hug control panel too! Avoid Webmin, you'll take few days just to see how it works.

RAM basically depends on your websits, how much traffic they get? what type of content they have? etc.

If you wanna drop the cost try and find someone to co-invest into such a venture..This is what i would do...Just pin down the best way forward and then with a little bit of luck maybe you can get some of your costs shared with someone you trust.?

With permission settings you can achieve that easily with VPS, I guess. Double check with your host.

I would suggest VPS. You can always upgrade to higher package as per your need. You can even switch to reseller account. And I guess you can get this all done by JaguarPc easily. Get connect with them for details.

I have a STARTER VPS with webhosting.uk.com just for 15£/month with excellent support. They offer you 30 day moneyback if you are not impressed by their service.
