I'm a retired guy, living pay check to pay check (still) and I don't have 50 bucks to burn but I do have it if its worth while. I've spent a lot of money on web business, usually not happy with what I get. Some of it is junk... I'm very weary of spending cash these days. I'm willing though when it makes sense. I've got an eBook that I thought about selling through Clickbank. It is not selling well. I need more traffic on my site but then, who doesn't. I'm getting 500 unique hits a day. SO its not dead. My niche, maybe its too small. And that's why I'm unsure an affiliate program would help. I don't know how explosive offering a product on Clickbank might be though. Maybe there are a lot of people out there wanting to offer my eBook? I'm an expat living in the Philippines. So I wrote a book about those that want to move to the Philippines. Lots more want to do so than actually do so. So what do you think. Worth risking my 50 bucks on? Maybe the back links make it worth it but if the book wont sell... I wont have back links for long. I think my next book is going to be about the Filipina, it might sell better. LOL
If you only have an e-book it will cost A LOT more than 50 bucks to launch a succesful product on clickbank. You need to have a landing page that has competitive conversion rates, you need to test this landing page and prove that it converts, you also need to spend time and money on marketing resources your affiliates can use to promote your product for you. Once you have proven that your product converts at a competitive rate and shown that there is a demand for your product then you can make a succesful launch on clickbank. So I guess the question really boils down to if your landing page can convert sales, and if you have the time and money to invest in all of the other items needed to launch your product.
Thanks, that's not exactly what I wanted to hear though... LOL I'd like to hear it will fly off the virtual shelf. Okay so I need to work on my landing page. I hate the pitch pages that people use. i see those and I've seen so many and I think BS BS BS when I see those pages but everyone is using them. So, I suppose they work. I will make a page like that but I wont do what so many do and that's lie. I'm not going to say, since this book is so valuable I don't want it to fall into the hands over everyone and I'm limited it some certain undisclosed number of people LOL. I do have some bonuses to give away. How do I build in urgency without lying? Thanks for the input, I'll keep my 50 bucks in my pocket a bit longer.
Nobody can tell you if it will fly off the shelves sickthing. * YES you should try, and yes you should follow what Dangles is telling you it all rings true. You won't find it flying unless you do your diligence as stated and make sure the thing converts. You really think there is a huge demographic for it? PROVE IT (with your own sales, before letting affiliates spend their time/money testing it). * So you're saying that you're getting 500 unique's and you can't seem to convert it, so in your opinion the best thing to do is to give it to affiliates? You'll shoot yourself in the foot. * I've researched the expat process very well as I'm not too far off myself (not Phillipines) and in my research although there were products like what you've done, I'm not sure I'd ever pay for something like this when there are soooooo many angles one needs to cover from taxes to lawyers to residency/citicenship, family, etc. This is stuff that is handled by lawyers when one gets serious about it, and there's a heap of info online for those just thinking about it. Not that I'm saying your project isn't viable, just be realistic if you can't make sales of this book I don't think you're going to have success with others trying. In fact that's a big no no around here, launching products to affiliates that have no conversion data and the owner is just sick of trying to get sales on their own - I guarantee you'll fail if you simply proceed and pay $50 to let affiliates have a go at it.
Like you said, niche is too small so I doubt it will work. For successful selling you will need a LOT of affiliates ready to promote you product. I know cos I have few products at Clickbank..
NC, perhaps you missed my humor when I said it would fly off the shelves. Most expats, nearly zero expats that move to developing countries hire lawyers to handle these things. Most can barely afford their plane ticket. They think they are going to move to the Philippines and be rich off $1000 or less with a social security pension. They can survive and do it better than they can in the USA or West but they are not going to be rich. I'm way past the planning stage. I've been living it for nearly three years. I agree though, taxes is too complicated for a book like that but most expats don't have incomes other than their pension and its as easy as filing the income tax return. Since I'm a former Revenue Agent, perhaps I should start such a service. Naw. I'm sick of taxes lol Your telling me I should try but then tell me that it has no market? A country specific book would help someone a lot. What is in my book, it has value, I know it does because I wish I had had this information before I did. It would have got me here a year sooner. The book would. Yes, the information is out there. Its mostly only website over 1000's of articles. This puts it in one place, easy to cover in about an hour and cuts to the meat of it. This is my first ebook, don't think I would know exactly what I was doing. So I'm plunging in I will also follow it up. At least I have my competition concerned. They started trying to spam their sites with links to their ebooks. I will release a series, takes time. I have to re-write my pitch page. I don't really like the pitch pages I see out there ass they are packed with lies and they all the look the same. But people wouldn't be using them if they didn't work. So I'll remove the lies and be myself which is above all else, honest and work on a new pitch page like everyone else has.
Yeah don't let anyone tell you otherwise. Every sales letter that looks the same will be redundant to the customers in the same niche.. After all people are becoming more tech savvy and have high awareness of digital products unlike the old days.
I have a blog and I will continue to offer it through the blog but it hasn't been doing well and my friends in the niche don't understand why. Soooooo if it ain't working, fix it.
