Should I do a redirect for just one day?

    I have two websites. One gets about 200-300 unique visits/day but it displays low paying ads.
    I have another website that only gets about 50-70 unique visits/day but the CPR is much bigger and also the adds are paying better.
    Should I make a redirect from the low paying site (but with more visitors) to the better paying site (with few visitors yet)? I only plan to do this for one day (also a page with "Site is currently down for maintenance. You will be redirected shortly to another website"). This way I am hoping that more users will find the other website interesting, start reading and also come back.

    Is this a good idea?

    Are they related in theme? If the visitors to site A wont care about the ads on site B then there is no point.

    well both sites are abut programming and design...one is with tutorials and the other one is my blog..
    Both are about computers, internet and stuff like that.
