Should I Ditch Joomla and use Wordpress?

I have a PR3 site that uses Joomla and opensef. It is more of a review site for affiliate products. The following questions I am struggling with are asked below.

Which is better out of the box for SEO? Can any plugin make one better than the other?

Which has a better newsletter plugin or should I just go with aweber or some other 3rd party newsletter optin?

Is there any obvious reason why one would work better over the other for such a site?

Any responses would be greatly appreciated.

I have never used Joomla or any other blog type other than WP. I have liked the constant updates and user friendly intergrations et cetera. The power and control over my own blog is awesome. WP I know has their downsides. But never enough for me to look around for other blog types.

I run joomla sites and as long as you have opensef , I don't see what the problem is.

In fact you might just add a problem because you might have to change all your pages and thus urls when you move from joomla to wp.

wp is fine but the present advice I would give is that if you have started with joomla, stick with joomla and vice versa. It would even be better for you to get another domain and use wp on it.

As for seo, wp is much better than joomla. But the new joomla version takes care of that a bit.

However, if you have opensef and also add joomla sef patch, you won't have an issue with sef. Just learn how to use them both.

    2. You do not need a third party newsletter component if you have joomla. You have a choice of either Letterman or acajoom or even vemod news mailer. You really do not need a third party newsletter provider with joomla.

My advice is to stick with joomla if that is what you have on your site. Especially if you wish to increase on the functionality of your site. however, if it's only a blog you wish to have, then wp is the best. If you need to add other stuff to your site, nothing beats joomla.
