Should I delete old posts to make site user-friendly?

I have a quick questions. I run 9 semi-automatic blogs, and the posts are numbering anywhere between 500-50,000.

I am strongly thinking about placing an auto-delete plugin into my websites, so that after 3 weeks the posts will be deleted.

Question number 1 – Will this give me lesser chance of being SEO friendly, will it give me a lesser chance of people finding me because many of the older links come up on google?

I have strong frontpage positioning on google for a few of my sites, would less pages make this even better?

Should I install Auto-delete to be user friendly, I mean, nobody wants to be brought to old, dead links…?

Do not delete the post as you will get chance to loose S.E.R.P. (if any ) why u don't choose any permanent link structure rather deleting it. It is unwise to delete old post.

Do not delete the posts it will effect the backlinks
when the backlinking site will come to know that there is no landing page..they will delete the link but as far as u r deleting those posts backlinks would not matter but u will face some traffic loss both direct tarffic as well as search engine traffic.
So better u edit those posts or update with P.S. section..rather than deleting them.

1.) If somebody has linked to an old post of yours, he or she might stop linking after seeing that the page does not exist.
2.) Search queries for which your older posts ranked will not result in anything for you.
3.) The number of indexed pages you see in Google will reduce.

If you have a good 404 page, then you could go ahead with deleting those posts ( if you really want to). I don't see how lesser pages will help you rank better in Google though.

the problem is, I am already up tp 25,000 posts in some of the sites. in 6 months i could be up to 100,000. perhaps its better just to leave them anyway.

Google treats every page individually so deleting pages will not cause any better results in ranking.
