I have a links page here: http://www.access-programmers.co.uk/links.htm I used to do reciprocal link campaigns but don't anymore. Not sure if these people are even still linking to me or not. Should I delete this links page and all the links? What is the current state of play? Thanks, Jon
If you delete your links page then gradually people will remove the links to your site. If my link was on there I would remove my link to your site.
Well, you can delete the link page, but as magellan said, people may gradually delete your links (although, I'd doubt they'd check on a regular basis). That said, link pages are risky. You be linking to a bad neighborhood, someone penalized for spamming, shady tactics, etc. That'd hurt you.
I think that's goning a bit mad to be honest - Google works because people link to other sites, why stop doing it? Reciprocal linking within a niche is natural.
Recip link still has some value. People are mad it's true but recip is not bad at all. DOn't stop exchanging link with similar sites to you.
A lot of those sites I have exchanged links with are to do with website design where my site is to do with Microsoft Access. Should I still keep them? I thought reciprocal linking was dead in the water after recent Google algo changes. Or am I completely wrong there?
