    Hello DP,

I have a few questions for you all...
I currently operate MyDentify.com...its a general business directory.
I officially launched the website in November and it has been quite successful for me.
Im an all about "strengthening my brand" sort of speak. I would like to try an experiment that would wrap my new article content around my MyDentify Brand.
e.g. MyDentify Tips to improve XXXXXXX. or MyDentify Reasons for using XXXXX.

Would this hurt me do you think? or would it be more successful to create a new separate website,...e.g. new domain. Would Google (from a SEO point) prefer a new domain?

What i mean is - coming from a SEO standpoint, SERP standpoint etc.
    MyDentify.com/XXXX opposed to XXXX.com

I have seriously been thinking about this and would like to know if it will be better off one way or another.
Are there other things i would need to be aware of?

    My Domain - http://www.mydentify.com
Is currently doing some DNS switching so it might not link.

Thanks for any comments, suggestions, critiques, complaints etc.
    -Tim~

If they content is related then keep it on your current domain. Using a new domain will make you lose out on trust and authority you have built up.

but what if the content isnt related, but i craft it around my brand..

since its a directory its not a content heavy site, just links and so on.
I would like to create a "content" area about various things.

    e.g.

    Various topic 1
    Various topic 2

but they live within MyDentify all interlinking appropriately.

Since the name of the domain isn't widely recognized "ie, what does mydentify really mean" (rhetorical question lol) what about XXXX.mydentify.com?

I think this shall base on your budget, since subdomain or folder will not cost your anything, and subdomain has the same function as a new domain, so if you want to save money, you'd better use subdomain. But if you have some budget, I will suggest you using a new domain, because new domain will show people that this is a standalone website.

Sub folder is not recommended, it will be treated as part of your website.

I agree with that. the best way is try to get benefit of your old strength domain as much as possible. you will save a lots of time.

thats the goal :) hopefully all will work well. I just dont want to go through all the work, and find out down the line that i would have benefited much more if i had done it "x" way.
